Federal and State Laws

California Government (legislation, California laws)
This link is one-stop shopping for pending legislation, bills passed during the last session, and all current California codes. Most landlord-tenant and condominium laws are found in the Civil Codes, while the fair housing laws are found in the Government Codes (§12955-12956)

This Federal Trade Commission site provides the complete laws on credit reports.

Federal Register

Department of Fair Employment and Housing
This California agency, which enforces fair housing law, has a comprehensive site with information on discrimination in both housing and employment.

Department of Justice
The DOJ enforces federal fair housing laws. They also have a large library of information on the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).

Housing and Urban Development
HUD's vast site contains information on federal housing programs, HUD forms, fair housing, the fair housing poster (which can be downloaded), and many other areas of interest. It also administers the Section 8 program.
